MARGARET MARY LANGEDOCK

(nee BOCKSTAEL)

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Margaret Langedock, at Holy Family Home at the age of 95 years.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband Noel of 60 years, her parents Marc and Mary Bockstael, a brother Frank and infant daughter Irene.

Left to survive are her sisters Nancy (Ray) Reeve, Rose (Jim) Beaulieu and Anne (David) Condon. She was the oldest of five children, marrying Noel to have five healthy children of her own: David (Madeline), Frances (Len) Anderson (Rick Yackel), Helen Townsend, Michael (Nannette) and last but not least Yvonne (Glen) Vincent; eight grandsons: Adam and Aaron Anderson, Keith, Colin, Cameron and Chad Langedock, Sean Vincent, Brant Townsend, and her only granddaughter Julia Vincent; also six great-grandsons Kyle, Liam, Konnor and Karter, Noah, Benjamin and Oliver, Adrian, Mickey and Madden and three great-granddaughters, Haddie, Myra and Keira.

Margaret was born in St. Boniface, and attended St. Joseph Academy. Following secondary school at Success Business College, she worked at Carter Chev Olds for a short time. Margaret joined the choir at the Belgian Sacred Heart Church where she met Noel, became engaged, and married on July 21, 1951. Margaret was very strong in her Catholic faith throughout her entire life. After the church was demolished in April 1995, she and Noel would regularly attend St. Timothy Parish.

As the family grew, Margaret remained a homemaker, maintaining a vegetable garden and canning much of the produce for the winter months, baking bread, cakes, and every weekend pies for dessert. Margaret enjoyed sewing clothes for the girls, and contributed countless hours knitting socks, mitts and scarves for her husband and children. Margaret's later passion and pastime was knitting sweaters for the Belgian Club bazaars, and taking orders for friends, children and family, as well as the Belgian community. A unique feature of Margaret's knitted cable knit sweaters were the shiny new pennies and dimes that Noel would drill holes into to serve as buttons. There was no shortage of balls of wool tucked away for the next project. She looked forward to spending special occasions with family. What a gift it was that she was able to celebrate her 60th wedding anniversary with Noel and extended family before his sudden passing.

Special thanks to ALL the staff at Holy Family Home and Dr. Lee Cummings, her family physician.

A funeral mass celebrating Margaret's life will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Timothy Parish, 135 John Forsyth Rd., with Father Brian Trueman officiating. A luncheon will be served after the service, followed by interment in the family plot for immediate family members at Green Acres Memorial Gardens.

The Coutu family in care of arrangements.
